If you still think Scouting is just about boys, tents and woggles, then take a look at this video - you might just change your mind. With over 200 activities on offer and half a million members (including 60,000 girls) Scouting offers everyday adventure to young people and adult volunteers.

Whether you are a lifetime advocate or new to scouting, we invite you to join us. We welcome new ideas and value enthusiasm from members and volunteers, new and old.

Young People

Ready to begin your adventure?  There are three sections you can join:

Beavers (girls and boys aged 6-8)

Cubs (girls and boys aged 8-10)

Scouts (girls and boys aged 10-14)

Explorers (girls and boys aged 14-18)

The activities and opportunities vary but each will enable you to make friends, learn skills and try new things.  You can also work towards a wide range of badges and awards.

"Scouting is a character factory".  Not our words, but those of our lead volunteer, Chief Scout Bear Grylls.  Are you ready to inspire a generation of young people?  The opportunities to volunteer are flexible.  Some people provide invaluable help behind the scenes with paperwork and organisation and others come along to the sessions to help the young people.  Think of something you'd like to do and the chances are it is just what we require.  Even if you can only help out occasionally, we would love to hear from you.

As a parent you can contribute to our Executive Committee.  This supports the Group Scout Leader and ensures the effective administration of the group.
